How errors in gears are caused

1. Gear hobbing machine tooth shape error
Machine tool is to spread into the movement mechanism and the tooth movement mechanism together with the gear processing machine tools, such as hobbing machines, gear shaping machines. For this type of machine tool, the main factor directly affecting the gear tooth shape error is from the tool manufacturing sharpening. 2. Base joint deviation
Base section deviation also refers to the difference between the actual base section and the nominal base section of the gear. As we know, the condition of involute gear angular meshing is that the base joints of two gears are equal. If one of the gears in a pair meshes with each other, one of the gears has a pitch deviation, their gear teeth will produce instantaneous ratio change when entering or exiting the mesh, causing shock and vibration.
3. Tooth pitch deviation
Tooth pitch deviation is the difference between the actual tooth pitch and the nominal tooth pitch on the index circle. It differs from the base pitch deviation in that the base pitch is measured along the meshing line, while the tooth pitch is measured on the circumference of the index circle. The pressure angle error is reflected in the tooth profile error. Therefore, from the evaluation of the smoothness of the gear transmission, sometimes available tooth pitch deviation instead of pitch deviation, tooth pitch deviation is mainly caused by the short-period error of the machine indexing motion mechanism.
